Anti-Ragging Committee

Ragging is strictly prohibited in Sponsored Teachers' Training College, Purulia. As per the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, ragging includes any act that causes, or is likely to cause, physical or psychological harm, harassment, embarrassment, intimidation, or fear to a student, whether by words, actions, gestures, or any other means.

Ragging is a social, psychological and educational menace that adversely affects the academic environment and the well-being of students. The College follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, inclusive and student-friendly campus.

Students are encouraged to uphold the glorious traditions and values of the institution and refrain from engaging in any activity, either within or outside the campus that may be construed as ragging.

The Anti-Ragging Committee works to create awareness among students, teachers and non-teaching staff regarding the harmful consequences of ragging and the legal provisions against it. The Committee also monitors the campus environment, addresses complaints, if any, and takes appropriate measures to prevent ragging and ensure a peaceful and congenial atmosphere in the college.
